Security guard punched

Posted 2 months ago

A security guard was punched after confronting three men who had broken into a Colborne Street East building early Thursday morning.

The security guard was checking the building — a grocery store under renovation — when he discovered the three would-be thieves. One man struck the security guard with his fist before all three took off in a waiting vehicle, police said.

The security guard was not injured in the incident, police said.

Police were then called to the building and found boxes of copper wire that had been placed by the rear door.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the police street crimes unit at 519-756-0113 ext. 2286 or Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers at 519-750-8477.
